The assembly and thought for the day programme is conducted regularly between 9.30a.m and 10.00a.m. This is to mould our student teachers as teacher leaders. In this programme all the students are given opportunities to speak in turn on various topics related to education, value systems and current issues. The objectives of the programme are
Identifying leadership qualities and nurturing them.
Enhancing communication skills and inter-personal relationship.
Overcoming problems and implementing change.
Improving teacher behavior.
Developing self discipline.
Staff Council
The college council is formed with all the faculty members. The Principal is the president of the council. The secretary is elected by the members and the council meets periodically to discuss academic matters of the college.
Students Council
The college association is constituted every year. A Chair-person, Secretary, Treasure, Student Editors, Class Representatives and leaders to the various subject associations are elected from the students under the guidance of the Principal and the faculty. It functions successfully for the welfare of student community. They are encouraged to organize meetings and cultural programmes.
Parent - Teacher Association (PTA)
The parent - Teachers Association has been functioning in the college for maintaining harmonious relationship among students, parents and teachers. The association attends to the overall development of the institution.
Club Activities
The club activities are to create awareness, care and love towards nature. The activities of the club go beyond classrooms and provide leadership training to our students. The activities of the club are decided by the members with the help of faculty. The following clubs are functioning in our college : Eco Club, Youth Red Cross, Heritage Club, Health Club, Art Club, Women Cell, Mother Gnanamma Club, Consumer Club, Red Ribbon Club.
Anti-Ragging Cell
To curb the menace of ragging in all its forms an anti- Ragging cell has been functioning in our college as per UGC regulations. It takes effective measures to discourage ragging.
Remedial Coaching
Remedial coaching is also carried out to help the students who are weak in studies, to get reasonable scores in the examination.
Red Ribbon Club
The principal is the coordinator of the Red Ribbon Club. Red Ribbon Club has been introduced to develop the spirit of service, sacrifice and co -operation among students. Students help the community by arranging medical camp and blood.
